School Curriculum

At Balance International School Suratthani, we follow the Cambridge International Curriculum from Early Years, through to Upper Secondary IGCSE.

Early Years

2 – 4 years old

Learn through Cambridge’s play-based learning

Primary Years

Year 1 – 6

Play-based learning gives way to project based learning

Lower Secondary

Year 7 – 9

Students are built further on their academic acquisition through skills based learning

IGCSE

Year 10 – 11

A mixture of six core and elective subjects that need to be completed during the IGCSE study years

Early Years to Upper Secondary IGCSE

The early years starts with students from 2 – 4 years old and herein they learn through Cambridge’s play-based learning. Following this students move into the primary years section from year 1 – 6 where play-based learning gives way to project based learning.

From 7 – 9 they carry into lower secondary and here students are build further on their academic acquisition, but now through skills based learning.

Finally in years 10 – 11 there is a mixture of core and elective subjects offered to students of which they need to complete at least six subjects during the IGCSE years of studying. This then culminates in the Cambridge International Examinations external written from May to June of year 11.
